When I was on vacation, I was taking a walk along the beach with my dad and was taking pictures as we went. So I had the strap of my camera around my wrist, and was swinging my arms when the strap broke. I was like, "Oh dang!" You know, no harm done. Except that there was.
I still had had my camera on, so when it hit the sand, the lens hit it and it was crooked, almost like falling out. So... I was pretty ticked. I mean, it really broke just from me dropping it like that? I thought, 'Its alright, I have a warranty on it, and I can get a new one or get it fixed or something'.
When we get home, I go to Best Buy, which is where I bought it, and they tell me that my warranty expired two days ago so they can't do anything. I wanted to punch the lady in the face. Two days?! Two days and you're not going to do anything?! She then said that it would cost more to fix it then to just buy a new one. My dad attempted to fix it, and he managed to get the lens un-crooked, but it still won't turn on.
So now I am camera-less and have to spend the money that I've been saving on another camera. Ok, technically I don't have to, but I really would like a camera. It's really convenient and I take pictures all the time of anything and everything. It just makes me so mad, that it broke just from the strap breaking.
Another bummer is that in about 3 weeks, I'm going to Buffalo New York and Niagara Falls. Camara-less. Talk about frustrating. So, my parents said I could take theirs, so I might just do that.
I've been working with my mom over the summer, so when the time comes when I want to buy a new one, I really want to make a good choice and spend my money wisely. And then take good care of it. I won't be carrying it by it's strap anymore!
